Macraspis festiva is a dazzling beetle species native to the lush tropical rainforests of the Amazon, particularly in Brazil, Peru, and parts of southern Venezuela. Though it doesn’t have a widely used common name, “Shining Leaf Chafer” would be a fitting title, thanks to its brilliant metallic green and yellow coloration. Adults, which reach about 2 centimeters in length, are most active during the flowering season, where they gather in large numbers to feed on tree blossoms like those of Matayba guianensis.
