Cryptocephalus Apicalis
$42.00
Cryptocephalus apicalis is a small, leaf-eating beetle in the Chrysomelidae family that’s notable for its stunning range of colors. Though there is no widely recognized common name, a fitting one might be the Red-Tipped (or Gold-Tipped) Leaf Beetle, reflecting its variable elytra coloration. Most commonly, individuals display red-tipped wing covers, but in certain regions—especially East Kazakhstan—a striking variation emerges: beetles with deep blue bodies and shimmering gold tips on their elytra. These regional color morphs show just how diverse and beautiful beetle adaptations can be.
